Mark Russell
President, Wunderman Canada
Managing Director, Blast Radius/Central Region
What do you call a Buffalo-bred, Boston-raised marathoner and lawyer, digital and direct marketing guru who happens to work in Toronto and despises downtime? Mark Russell, Wunderman Canada’s president and Blast Radius' managing director of its central region.
Named to this dual role in March 2010, Mark is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Toronto, Chicago, and Detroit. He also works side-by-side with Wunderman's Chief Marketing Officer, Trish Wheaton, and Blast Radius' CEO, Gurval Caer, to build business in North America’s central corridor, spanning Detroit, Chicago, and Toronto.
Previously, Mark served as president of Wunderman Team Detroit, where he focused his energies on digital and direct advertising and marketing communications to help ensure that clients were taking full advantage of every opportunity the digital and direct marketplace has to offer. Mark has been cited in the national press, including The New York Times, as being an agent of change for agencies in the digital age.
Before Team Detroit, Mark was senior vice president and managing director of the Boston and Dallas offices of Carat Fusion, where he was responsible for 22 national and global clients, including John Deere, Wachovia, AOL, Reebok, Motorola and Radio Shack.
Mark also worked as managing director of interactive at Boston’s Connelly Partners after it acquired C-Quential, Inc., a marketing firm that he founded and led, with clients such as Nestle Purina, Ocean Spray and BJ’s.
